David B. Templin, M.D.

Joint replacement · Pediatric & adult trauma · Sports injuries — in practice since 2006

Dr. Templin has been caring for orthopedic patients since 2006 and serves as an attending surgeon at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa New Braunfels Hospital. His practice emphasizes joint replacement, pediatric and adult trauma, and sports injuries — comfortable on both the operative and non-operative sides of skeletal and soft-tissue care.

He completed undergraduate work at Saint Joseph's College in Indiana and earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. His five-year residency at Akron General Medical Center ended as chief resident; he was certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in 2009.

Michael S. Vrana, M.D.

Sports injuries · Arthroscopy · ACL/ligament reconstruction · Hip, knee & shoulder replacement — in practice since 2006

Dr. Vrana is the practice's only fellowship-trained surgeon — a sports-medicine fellowship under Dr. Jesse DeLee in San Antonio, with subspecialty training in joint replacement, foot and ankle, and shoulder/knee surgery. Before medical school he spent eight years as a licensed physical therapist, which still shapes how he thinks about recovery, rehab, and when surgery is actually the right call.

He earned his Physical Therapy degree at UTSA summa cum laude, his medical degree at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at University Hospital. He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and recognized with the Charles A. Rockwood Jr. Outstanding Student Award in Orthopedics. He has taken orthopedic call at the local hospitals since arriving in New Braunfels in 2006.

Trent Twitero, M.D.

Joint replacement · Pediatric & adult trauma · Sports injuries — two decades of Army OR experience

Dr. Twitero brings two decades of Army operating-room experience to the OSI patient. His Army career took him to Fort Irwin, Fort Hood, Germany, Iraq, and Bosnia; he rose to Lieutenant Colonel and served as Chief of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at Fort Hood before leaving active service in 2010.

He earned his Bachelor's at the University of North Dakota and his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda. His five-year orthopedic residency was at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He sees patients across the region — Seguin, New Braunfels, Cuero, Kenedy, and Gonzales — and is on staff at multiple regional hospitals.

Two Board-Certified PAs

In this practice, the PA you meet in clinic is the same PA who first-assists in the operating room and follows you through recovery — a continuity that is uncommon in orthopedic care.

Sydney Georg, PA‑C

Working alongside Dr. Templin

A Seguin native and former collegiate volleyball player at UT-Dallas, Sydney came to orthopedics through her own athletic injuries. She earned her PA degree at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio and works the full continuum with Dr. Templin — clinic evaluation, joint and soft-tissue injections, casting and splinting, surgical first-assist, and post-operative care.

Working alongside Dr. Vrana

The newest member of the OSI team, Ben pairs with Dr. Vrana across clinic and OR. He earned his Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University in 2022 and his PA Master's at South University Austin in 2025. In clinic he handles new and follow-up evaluations, joint and soft-tissue injections, casting and fracture care; in the OR he first-assists Dr. Vrana and leads most post-operative visits.
